Dia dhuit!
I have a friend from County Galway in Ireland who sings a song with this first line:
Ta/ mo cho/ta mo/r stro/icthe o/ tho/in
Is a sileadh liom thi/os.
The melody is a variant of a set dance tune called The Blackthorn. I wonder if anyone might know the author, a source, any info at all about it.I listen to a lot of Irish language songs and I have never come across it.
By the way,I have gotten some great help in this forum. Go raibh maith ag gach duine agus mna uaisle! Can anyone direct me to any other sources on the net for Irish Language songs?

G'day Alison,

Well, that's the Irish for you ... terribly polite, but even the Luck of the Irish won't protect them from multiple postings!

Regards,

Bob Bolton

I just thought I'd refresh this thread. I still haven't found anything new about this song.
