I still think this country can be saved, and if you don't mind, I'm going to continue to be hopefully chanting "Dean... Dean...Dean..." ttr |

Aphorism for Democratic candidates prior to the convention: When vying for the presidential nomination, it is not wise to speak too bitterly, for all but one of you will have to eat your words. From: Thomas the Rhymer Yep, McGrath... and a darn fine president she would make of it too... sad she's being ignored, isn't it? Remember though, it's been all spin up to now... finally the people will begin to speak... haven't really had much of a chance lately... It feels so strange, to watch all these candidates... as these Democrats duke it out,, any one of which would do an absolutely commendable job compared with Bush... |

11 Jan 04 - 08:40 PM (#1090711) Subject: RE: BS: When good men beat each other down... From: Charley Noble Well, let's not let Newsweek and Times dictate our choice of Democratic nominee. I did enjoy reviewing the transcript of the Public Radio debate. A highlight for me was when Denis K. held up a pie chart to reinforce his point to the radio audience... I'm most interested in Dean and Clark. Charley Noble |

11 Jan 04 - 10:13 PM (#1090786) Subject: RE: BS: When good men beat each other down... From: Amos Dean's the best shot I see -- he has his wits about him and he is motivated by the right things. He reminds me of Truman, a point which his campaign committee is now elevating to a theme...but I thnk he has what it takes and he will be a hellofa lot more representative than Mister "Diplomacy by Overwhelm" Bush. 11 Jan 04 - 11:33 PM (#1090826) Subject: RE: BS: When good men beat each other down... From: MAG Well I was a Carole Moesly B. supporter from way before NOW endorsed her, as I lived in chicago when she was starting her political career there in the state legislature. She has always been a person of integrity and frankly has the best qualifications. I said that to a Dean supporter of my acquaintance who replied that yes, she was excellent but didn't have a chance of winning. So, people at this stage of the game are already deciding on the basis of who is electable? Mick, I gather labor is pro-Gephart. What is his position on foreign relations? That is what tends to cut it for me. MA, anti-imperialist. (yes, guys; that too.) |
