17 Jan 04 - 04:27 PM (#1095040) Subject: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: Gareth Mud Money. Financial Position as at the 31st of December 2003 Money received since inception in 2002 Donations - Both One Off and Standing Orders - £1124.40 Remitted via Bill Sables £635-00 Bank Charges Nil Expenses Nil Cleared Balance in Bank £489.40 Before Bill went on his travels I asked him if a remittance of circa £430 would present any problems with his cash swap arrangement with Dick Greenhouse. It would appear that this is not a problem. We now have an extra months donation in hand. In the circumstances a cheque for £485.00 is being sent to Bill by post, via John Routledge for the second signature. At current exchange rate of US$ 1.75 to £ this is roughly equivalent to US$ 840 Whip rounds at Mud meets etc., and regular standing orders are the source of income. If any UK or ROI 'Catters wish to set up regular standing orders to donate then if you PM me, or E-Mail me at garethwilliams@gareth72.fsnet.co.uk Or Snail Mail to Gareth Williams, 72 Commercial St., Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed, Caerphilly. CF82 7DY My poser phone number is 07721 585081 Details will be sent. As you will appreciate I am reluctant to give the bank account details over an open Internet channel. Gareth |
17 Jan 04 - 04:35 PM (#1095043) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: MudGuard I guess "Money received since inception in 2002" should read "Money received since inception in 2003". |

17 Jan 04 - 06:48 PM (#1095143) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: Gareth Andy - No offence taken. As The account has not been audited, ( Which gives a "cut off" and inception point I thought it proper to give very basic details from the start. Gareth |

18 Jan 04 - 11:44 AM (#1095540) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: Gareth Andy - Yes I understand that it is possible, unfortunately it costs bank charges. Whilst the Bill/Dick currancy swap works I feel that we can continue to use it. Otherwise an AMT (Air Mail Transfer) direct to Max in the states could also be done, but unfortubately UK (and US) banks are not charities. REegards, Gareth |
19 Jan 04 - 07:15 AM (#1096142) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: Dave Bryant Thanks for organising all this Gareth. Are there any UK Mudcatters out there who don't know about "Friends of Mudcat" ? It is a way of providing Mudcat (ie Max) with some extra funds so that it can keep operating. Basically you can fill in a standing order form for a regular amount to be transferred to the FOM account, and this is then sent to Max via complicated (but free) method involving Bill Sables and Dick Greenhaus. Just £5 a month will help to keep this site working. If you're not a member already, but like many of us, regard the 'Cat as a necessary part of Life, the Folkscene, and Everything - then PM Gareth for details on how to join. |

19 Jan 04 - 12:32 PM (#1096361) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: Dani If it costs bank $$ to move it along, why not give it to Kendall when he comes over? We seem to have enough folks coming back and forth to set up a regular drop box for things like this ;) I am very impressed with you cousins across the water. Glad Mudcat has grown to include so many more wonderful people! Dani |
20 Jan 04 - 01:53 AM (#1096830) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: dick greenhaus The Bill Sables/dick greenhaus arrangement is convenient, and incurs no cost top either Mudcat nor the contributors. CAMSCO likes it as it helps provide a means of obtaining UK recordings from suppliers who don't accept credit cards. Definitely a win-win situation for all involved, except possibly for Bill, who has to keep the accounts straight. |

26 Jul 04 - 03:29 AM (#1233762) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: Liz the Squeak So how are we doing now? Any chance of a quick update? That way, we can use the rest of the year to try and make a bit more. I'll be attempting to put a webpage up soon with the Christmas cards I make, any sold via Mudcat will generate a dontation to Mudcat. Any sold anywhere else will generate a dontation to the British Heart Foundation. If you want to put in an order early, sight unseen, they are hand made, cross stitched cards of various designs, including robins, baubles, cute mice, festive scenery, wreaths, trees, candles, stars and angels. They cost £1.25 each, of which 75% pays for materials, the other 25% goes to the good cause. I've not worked out the postage or packing yet, but it should be minimal. PM me with an Email address if you want to see pictures before you buy! LTS |

13 Mar 06 - 07:21 AM (#1691882) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: John Routledge Friends of Mudcat is still legally in existence but inactive. A decision needs to be made if it is to continue and I am today writing to Gareth to initiate the necessary discussion. If a decision is made to wind up F o M then a final financial statement will need to be prepared.Funds were transferred periodically after collection so any balance would probably be modest. If anyone has current contact with Gareth it would be helpful if they would let me know. |
13 Mar 06 - 07:29 AM (#1691889) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: sian, west wales I don't have any contact details but I am contributing monthly to the account. (What do you mean by 'inactive'?) I'm happy to continue but would want to know that the money actually is getting to the 'Cat. Thanks for the information, John, and thanks for refreshing this thread, Joe. siân |
13 Mar 06 - 10:12 AM (#1691997) Subject: RE: Mudmoney - Friends of Mudcat accounting. From: John Routledge Sorry sian, my unqualified use of the word "inactive" is misleading. The inactivity refers to fundraising initiatives etc. The F o M bank account however remains in place as set up and any money which has been paid into that account either has been or will be paid to Mudcat. Update will follow. |
