Right by Cookham Bridge, straight up the side of the river from Maidenhead Bridge. Windsor has a few things of a loosely Folk bent at Windsor Arts Center with the Soundhole on Sunday and an acoustic do on Wednesday. The Rose and Crown - London end of Slough High Street is a Folk Friendly pub with occasional Saturday sessions The Herschell Arms Herschell Street Slough is a Rabid Hotbed of Irish Traditional music, especially on a Monday night. Also on Monday and not too far down stream.Staines Folk and Blues Club is in the Three Tuns and is a nice small club Tuesday will usually find me at the Crown and Treaty in Uxbridge, and that is Denham/Slough end of the High Street near the canal. That should keep you going for a bit, and of course London is NOT that far away with all the clubs and sessions there. |

From: Leadfingers Lizabee- Just ignore Breezy - He has no sense of proportion - he just doesnt seem to realise that you are looking at over an hours driving time each way to Herga,(even if you can find it) from Datchet. Even if he is involved in some of the better music NORTH of London. |

From: Roger the Skiffler South Hill Park Bracknell has folkie things and acoustic sessions, Terry has covered most of the others. In Ascot we have Jagz (which I may have mentioned once or twice!)for jazz and blues (blues on Tuesdays) and Ollies Club 1 which calls itself a jazz club but is mainly soul & funk and only "live" about once a month (and is pricey IMHO). From: ard mhacha Breezy, I stopped in a Hostel in Colnbrook, the nearest thing to a concentration camp outside of South Africa [Baden Powell] or Guantanamo Bay. I wonder if it is still standing, music and Slough were poles apart in the late `50s. |
