26 Jan 04 - 12:15 PM (#1101812) Subject: RE: BS: Where have all the earwigs gone ? From: jimmyt As we men get older, it is a fact that many become bald and either need to deal with baldness by ignoring it or perhaps a wig. However, the hair growing on our ears increases, thus I really see a very small market for earwigs.........but that's just me I do have a line of eyebrow toupee's that will soon hit the market |

27 Jan 04 - 02:41 AM (#1102298) Subject: RE: BS: Where have all the earwigs gone ? From: Mudlark They are traipsing thru my house, by summer a river of dark moving shapes as night comes on. They crawl into my bed, they fill up the tub, they fall out of books. Outside there are hundreds on the windows aftr dark, yet more are mowing down all the garden veg. shoots as they appear above ground, ruining the centers of lettuce, cabbage and other plants, gnawing into carrots. Oh....I hate earwigs! Anybody have any good non-pesticide ways of getting rid of them. Hand-picking, even night collections in tuna cans, etc. are only reasonable when numbers in the hundreds, not thousands. Sprinkling liberal amounts of diatomaceous earth about works pretty well, but only until the next spring rain.... |
