Folkus (the folk arts organisation of the NW UK are running the first (of many we hope) residential weekends in folk music at Waddow Hall in Clitheroe on Valentine's weekend, some details here . Folkus is developing steadily as a provider of workshops, co-sponsor of folk events, and promoter of touring bands etc.

I'll try and crystallise the weekend in a later post - best story was phil Brown (bigwhistle co), who tutors tin whistle and low whistle, saying how nice it was to work with another whistle tutor (Bev Whelan - attractive and beautifully proportioned...) What he actually said to all the attendees, "It's been lovely to have Bev to bounce off this weekend."

But it went wonderfully well: we've reserved the same weekend at Waddow next year. There may be more, but I'll post on Mudcat.
