I need fiddle music

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had fiddle music for any of John Hartfords songs, Mississippi Dew and Long Hot Summer Days in particular. I could also use guitar music for any of his songs. My email adress is bsohare@bigred.unl.edu, and I would love to hear from you.
Thanks

Try typing Hartford in the "Lyrics and Knowledge" search box - Forum main page - top left. That will pull out any references already discussed in the forum. I'm pretty sure there have been some - not necessarily about the tunes you want, but ther might be links already to other sources.
Quack!

I dont think anyone understands, I have the songs and lyrics, what i need is the music. I play the fiddle and guitar, and was wondering if anyone out there had the actual music for these songs (or any Hartford songs for that matter), so that I could learn them. I figure its a long shot, but itd be well worth trying.

I can't even find a songbook. Looks like you'll have to learn them by ear,or find someboy who can transcribe from recordings. Sorry

you might try going to the auld recreation center near the Zoo and checking with the musicians at the contra dance..they could probably help if not with those exact songs, then some other interesting ones.
lincoln contra dance the next dance is sat feb 7 – the first Saturday of each month from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m (instruction for beginners from 7:15 to 7:30). Auld Recreation Center in Antelope Park, 3130 Sumner (off A Street).
