This year, what with the death of my beloved and all, I've found myself thinking longingly of the best festival in the east since late fall- I need a dose of Old Songs! Allison |

Now that I've got both of my sons' high school graduations out of the way, I should be able to attend each year! Today, with snow falling outside my window (again!), June is sounding really good! Allison, Old Songs hugs are on the way!!! best, Barbara |

This is a project that I've never had the opportunity to hear and I've heard so much about. What a great opportunity! This is yet another example of why the Old Songs Festival is my favorite of all festivals. Their focus is ALWAYS on presenting QUALITY and giving the audience their moneys worth. Performances like this make it stand out far above other festivals where the promoters seem ONLY concerned with getting bodies through the gate. I know we are all going to have a incredible and memorable time! Ron |

06 Feb 04 - 02:12 PM (#1110871) Subject: RE: Old Songs Festival Performers 2004 From: Zhenya Hello all - I'm recognizing some Mudcat names here from last year's Old Songs thread. I'm already looking forward to seeing Bruce Molsky (I was actually wondering why he hadn't previously been at Old Songs, as he seemed such a natural for this festival) and John Doyle and John Williams, among others. And curious about the Breton group which I'm not familiar with. And now from reading some of the comments above, I'm curious about some other performers I'm not as familiar with as well. And of course, the Scottish singing, and old time tunes, etc. etc....I can already see it will be the usual problem of how to catch as much of I want of each performer when there's so much good music all weekend! Not only do I love this festival for the music, overall quality, and ambience, but I always find it's one of the most peaceful weekends of the year for me. Allison, here's good wishes that it will be the same for you - and that the effects will linger for long afterward. Zhenya |
