What my heart wants to hear. (Boy)Let me love you in silence. Let me know all your charms. or (Girl) Let no word come between us Sing no song to my charms, Fill your hands with caresses, Speak of love with your arms, Speak of love with you arms. One word lightly spoken could break this lovely spell, My heart would be broken If you should say farewell. So, tell me not how you love me, Make no vow, tell no lie, Let your mouth speak with kisses Take my kiss in reply, Then there can be no good bye. |

Often, a performer will change a word or two from what's actually on the page for a myriad of reasons. You can see a few word changes here in what I think the performer is singing. Tell me not how you love me, Speak no words in my ear, Let your mouth say with kisses, What my heart wants to hear, What my heart wants to hear. Hang no halo above me, Build no shrine to my charms, Fill your hands with caresses, Speak of love with your arms, Speak of love with your arms. One word lightly spoken, Could break this lovely spell, My heart would be broken, If you should say farewell. So, tell me not how you love me, Tender vows often lie Let your mouth speak with kisses, Take my kiss in reply. Then there can be no goodbye. |
