Musicians for Boston Pete Seeger Tribute

Howdy Folks, I am looking for acoustic/folk musicians in the Boston area willing to take part in a couple of Pete Seeger Tribute Concerts on Sunday April 25th @ Capo's in Lowell and Monday April 26th @ Club Passim in Cambridge.

I am organizing these concerts as a benefit for The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater which Seeger found with others to protect the Hudson River Waterway. Last summer they lost a ton of money when their folk festival was washed out and are in financial trouble. I spent a week aboard The CLearwater last summer and its a great experience, especially singing Shanty's aboard a working sloop.

We can't offer $ but you will get to meet a bunch of great people from the Clearwater and the show at Capo's will be profesionally video taped and broadcast on most of the local cable channels as part of my folk/traditional music show. Contact info for all artists performing will be included in every broadcast of the show and a copy will be provided to those performing for their own personal use.

Feel free to contact me @ ceolach@yahoo.com with question or if you are interested in possibly performing.

All the best, Cliff McGann

It sounds great; that is the NEFFA weekend which will make it hard for some. I live too far away to manage the Monday concert, but what time is the Sunday one?

I'd do anything for Pete!

I can certainly get some of the Sloop Singers to make the trip. Send me more details.

PS, Clearwater ended up its fiscal year $20,000 in the black. This money went to retire some of its massive debt.

Hi Cliff
Depending on what time Sunday it's a possiblity (preforming sea music at NEFFA too), Monday in the evening is no problem. I was at that washout last year & was supposed to be singing shanties at the waterfront, it didn't happen. I don't have e-mail at the moment seeing as I don't have a working computer (Gateway is sending me a replacement at no cost, when?) so hopefully you'll be droping back in on this tread. Good Luck

Barry

Can't do Sunday either- I'm performing at NEFFA at 3!

Good luck- it's a great cause!
