A reminder to anyone in our area that Flook are on at The Maltings Arts Theatre, St Albans on Friday March 5, with support from Indian/ English hammer dulcimer duo, Indy and Jan. The Maltings reports that tickets are selling well but there are still some left. To book, ring 01727 844222.

You can have a discount of £1.50 on your concert ticket if you book at the same time for the flute/whistle and guitar workshops organised by St Albans Folk Music the next day at St Michael's Parish Centre, St Michael's Street, St Albans.

Now Martin,
Don't you listen to that dreadful breezy character. He'll tell you anything to get you to come to his club.
Look what happened to poor El Greco - fame, fortune, and all because he sang at Snorbans......
Do you want that to happen to you?
See you on Friday,
Mary

Yes, I sold my soul to the Hairy One in return for fame and riches.
Well, riches...
Bugger it, I've been done!

Mary's bitter cos she turned me down because I wasnt a real ram that night at Redbourn.

I was a singer in a sheep's skin

and she's a bell ringer.

Whose this El Greko person anyway? Is he the one of the CD launch on the Friday 19th March at the Duke Of Marlboro, in St Albans [free admission -buy raffle tickets]

Sorry Anahata and Mary cos I've already said I would go and see Janet and Indie play at The Maltings weeks and weeks ago, before I promised to come and see you two, but I will make it up to you some how.Hopefully I will see you before Oct 11th but this Folkie thing is so mad, I just might not. Have a nice time where ever you are.

It's a bit close to the full moon for me to be out at night so I'll have to check what the cloud cover is like this evening.

But Flook or Mike Sparks???????

Then next month it's

Blazin' Fiddles or Tommy Sands????!!!

Decisions, Decisions.......

Its a hard life for a hard working Muso - All these good things going on when I am being paid to be elsewhere. Still, some of you might come to Ampthill in April.

If its cutting edge songs then you know where we are, if its an evening of tunes by profesional musicians you're after ,then you know where to go.

You could do worse and go to a folk club where not everything is predictable and you can heckle and be heckled.

Enjoy yourself wherever .

we'll keep a welcome by the fire side
We'll keep a welcome at the Duke
So if you dont come to Mike Sparks
We' ll assume you've gone to Flook

And if you are a poet I don't know it. Michael watch out. If I do make it to the second half of Mike Sparks, do I get another credit or not?

Down at the Duke the banter's sharp, and cutting the songs they sing,
Breezy's there, going his own sweet way, so Sparks will command the floor.
But tonight we've lured by Irish wit, the flute and bodhran skin,
But by next week we'll be back at the Duke, and be wild rovers no more.
