06 Mar 04 - 04:02 PM (#1130500) Subject: BBC4 - Celtic Connections From: GUEST,Tunesmith I watched last night's BBC4 Celtic Connections broadcast ( repeated later tonight), and it struck me how poor the sound mix was. One of the members of "Four Men and a Dog" was discussing the band's drive to create a unique, instantly recognisable sound, but I'm afraid the BBC sound mixers mustn't have been listening because certain instruments couldn't be heard at all - the rhythm guitar, for example. It must be very frustrating for bands when all their hard work at creating a particular sound is served so poorly by insensitive tv sound people. |

06 Mar 04 - 09:49 PM (#1130652) Subject: RE: BBC4 - Celtic Connections From: Dave Hanson BBC production is always crap, in the Ralph Stanley programme last week, in the first song, the second instrumental break was a banjo break but the camera was on the mandolin player and the sound man had the banjo turned down, the next break was a mandolin break and the camera was on the banjo player. Great music, crap production. eric |
