12 Mar 04 - 10:42 AM (#1134724) Subject: New DC JugBand ! (I'mFinally in a band) From: GutBucketeer Though I have been playing 'le Gutbucket (washtub bass) for over 20 years, I have not really been in an official "band" since college. Well that has finally changed. Special Ed (Ed Light), an incredible tenor banjo player invited me to join the new lineup of his re-formulated Genetically Altered Jug Band. We played an open mike a couple of weeks ago and had a huge response (we even had someone ask for our CD), and this week we made demo recordings of three songs. We are still working out the kinks and getting used to each other. However, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I've put the demo mp3s on a very rudimentary web page. Therefore: Announcing! Special Ed and the All New Genetically Altered Jug Band Washington DC Metro Area Featuring: Ed Light (Special Ed):Fearless Leader, Lead Vocals and Banjo, Kazoo, Siren and Duck Call Richard Howard (Bags): Lead Vocals, Trumpets, Slide Whistle, and Women's Voices Ron Goad (Wash-Boor): Backup Vocals, Washboard, Woodblocks, Cowbells, Cymbals, and all things Percussive Jim Bunch (Gutbucketeer): Backup Vocals, Washtub Bass (gutbucket), and Jews Harp Check out the line up and demo sound files at: http://user.md.net/~jabunch/ I play Gutbucket of course. (I'm Finally in a band) From: M.Ted Well, now that you've hit the bigtime, I hope this doesn't mean that you are not bailing out on the Ukulele group--I finally showed up, last Sunday, and you weren't there--wasn't the same without you--owing to the plurality of Jims, we decided to rename it "The Jim Bunch"-- |
