13 Mar 04 - 01:09 AM (#1135347) Subject: Music in NYC? March From: Barry Finn Hi I'm driving down to NYC (Bronks) Mon AM March 15 & driving back home on Fri Am the 19th. I may end up there for a month, depending upon the construction site. So is there any folk music/sessions/sings within a 3/4 hr, drive if so could someone post it? I know that the 17th is St Paddy's day so I'm thinking that my shot hearing/doing music could be fair. Is there a sing at the Seaman's Church? I do keep hearing that there's music some where there. Hopefully I'll get to see & hear some friends. Thanks Barry |

March From: Barry Finn Hi InOBU Can you tell me in what part of the city (or Borough) the Half King restaurant and pub, 23rd street between 10th and 11th ave. With your grid system there 10, 11 & 23 sounds more like a lottery to me. Us born & bred Bostonians have a hard time navagating cities if the roads weren't winding cow paths first. Thanks, Barry |

15 Mar 04 - 08:33 AM (#1136892) Subject: RE: Music in NYC? March From: Charley Noble Barry- I'll be rolling down to South Street for the weekend of March 27, that's when the regular "chanty sing" happens at the Seamen's Chapel. I head down on the Friday and will be returning on Monday. While I'm there I'll be staying with my brother's family in Brooklyn. If any of this correlates with your plans, we could have even more fun! There is lots of room in my van and room to sling your hammock at my brother's place. PM/email me if any of this makes sense. Cheerily, Charley Noble |

March From: GUEST,John Hernandez If you are still in the Bronx on Thursday evening, March 18, you can go to the open singing session at the Riverdale Presbyterian Church. It's organized by Evy Mayer and Annie Price from the Pinewoods folk club. I don't know their e-mail address or phone number but you can probably find out how to contact them on the Pinewoods website. You can also try the NEFFA performer index website. |
