26 Mar 04 - 07:31 AM (#1146574) Subject: RE: Welcome new member - Leraud From: George Papavgeris Some of us have completed profiles that you can view by selecting "Member Photos & Info" from the drop-down menu top right of the screen. You can submit your own profile there too. Others haven't done that, and you just have to guess...Moses is a regular Herga-ite and Snorbanite (as indeed am I). As there's not many Greeks in the folk circuit, my identity is kind of obvious... |

26 Mar 04 - 07:35 AM (#1146576) Subject: RE: Welcome new member - Leraud From: GUEST,MCP Lynne From the Quick Links box (top of the page), pull down the Member Photos & Info line and press the Go button, then select Profiles from the menu. Members who have given profiles will usually include their real names. However, there aren't that many profiles, so for many you'll have to wait to come across who they are. (You can create your own profile to give info about yourself that you're willing to let others know!) As I'm not a member, you'll never know who I am. Mick (Pearce, man of mystery) |

26 Mar 04 - 07:42 AM (#1146580) Subject: RE: Welcome new member - Leraud From: Sandra in Sydney There have been lots of threads about Mudcat names, where members say why they chose the name they use & often give info about themselves. Mudcat is a great place for meeting like-minded people - either in cyberspace or sometimes in person. I run a folk club & assist in running another. I met Moses in February & will be meeting El Greko when he comes to Sydney in December when he will be appearing at my other folk club (Moses had a gig there, too!). She unfortunately missed singing at my club as she had to catch a plane that day. sandra |

26 Mar 04 - 08:38 AM (#1146610) Subject: RE: Welcome new member - Leraud From: Geoff the Duck Welcome Lyn. Here is a welcome. There's a lot of fun plus some serious discussion goes on here, so settle down, pull up a chair and warm your feet by the fire. Crack a bottle of something smooth and mooch around. Bu the one thing to remember is:- Beware the 'Spaw!!! Quack! Geoff the Duck. p.s. in 1979 I was living at Hoddesdon, and used to get to the Folk Club at St. Margarets. I remember you were a regular at the club. Do you recall the fire-eating at the Christmas party. That was me... (a long time before I became Geoff the Duck). |

You can even get discounted lemonade from Mrs Lemon on the strenght of being a Mudcatter. |

29 Mar 04 - 04:18 AM (#1148784) Subject: RE: Welcome new member - Leraud From: Dave Bryant Glad you've joined up Lynne - I'm sure that you'll find plenty of interest. Do remember that the open threads which you see when you look through the forum (usually ones which have been active in the last 24 hours - although you can use refresh to see a longer period) are only a tiny tip of the iceberg. If you are looking for information on any subject try performing a search on the forum - there's years of information there. Of course if it's a song you're after there's also the Digital Tradition (DT). I'm sure you'll find it useful. I'll have to try and make it to Waltham Abbey now. |
