28 Mar 04 - 02:28 PM (#1148317) Subject: Folk events in Quebec this summer? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Since it looks as though my hopes for a trip to the UK this summer are once again a bust, my daughter Maggie's making noise about visiting Quebec, where she spent a happy week with her classmates last year. I'm game, but would like to time it to coincide with some good music. So- are there any folk festivals or other events in or near Quebec city in July or early August? Thanks- Allison |

Another thing you might try is the folk club, The Yellow Door on Aylmer Street--google that. Also, try CHUT Radio in Montreal and ask for Mike Regenstrief. |

From: Dunkle The Festival d'Ete de la Chanson Francophone has always been one of our favorite summer events in Quebec City; for ten days in July, there is music everywhere. Here's the address: http://www.infofestival.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dunkle |

From: Lil Dog Turpy If you're in Montreal, drop in to McKibbins pub, Bishop Street just north of Ste Catherine on Saturday from 6 - 9pm and Sunday 7 - 10pm and bring a song or an instrument (or both) and a sense of humour. Not your average Irish Music session! |
