BS: Garden Tour Hell...............

Okay, fir any of you meanspirited Catters who have secretly been hopin' that my rather pompous butt would get his due... the due is coming soon...

Yup, tomorrow the P-Vine and me are flying down to Savannah, Ga. fir the annual garden tour. Oh, fun......

So let me give you a little glimpse of my next 3 days. Iz gonna have my butt led from one garden to the next with the P-Vine taking copius notes and me, ahhhh, just watching. Then at the nd of the day and back at the motel....

....THE QUIZ!

"Well, Bobert what did you think about the Lady Hayworth Pink verses the Tsztu Japonica Pink?"

"Well, P-Vine, ahhhhh, I thought they were both real nice..."

Then she screams "There's no such thing as a Tsztu Japonica Pink! If you loved me, you'd know that!" just before running off and locking herself in thre bathroom and pouting for the rest of the night in there....

Next day. More of the same....

Hope you all have a nice weekend, however....

Geeze.

Bobert

AWWWW Bobert, you're just sufferin' from Male Attenionitis Clippitus, a peculiar affection of Western males who jes' can't pay enough ettention, even when they feel like they're turning inside out with the effort. It's just cuz we don't HAVE enough. But never mind using that excuse.

Take notes on the notes, buddy. And "if you loved ME you wouldn't ask me no damn trick questions, either!"

Hey, Bob! While yer in Savannah, grab one of those freebie "this-is-what's-goin'-on-entertainment-wise-this-weekend-in-Savannah" newspaper thingies and see if my friend Trish is playin' at some club. She calls herself "Mama Trish" - like "Mama Cass" only Trish is much easier to look at than Cass was and Trish knows how to eat ham samwiches without dyin'. She ain't blues, but she's purty good at whut she duz.

And see who is singing at Kevin Barry's. You can't look at gardens after dark anyway. (Except I suppose the Garden of Good and Evil....)

Cass didn't die from eating a ham sandwich--that was a nasty rumor. She died of a heart attack. Boy, did she have a voice. . .

Bobert- my advice for you is this... make sure you spend some time walking barefoot on the beach. As much time as you possibly can. It'll help you cope with the other stuff.

Now Bobert--all you had to do was let me go instead of you. As we passed by Savannah on our way to Sarasota I told my Mom that a perfect vacation for me would be to hit the garden tours in Savannah, Charleston, SC and Atlanta. Next time tell P-vine to call me and you and my other half can go kayak along the coast.

ok Bobert, Mint Julep, Mint Julep, Mint Julep!
Two before, Three during and several after.
That way P-Vine won't be able to write down what she is seeing, in fact she may not be able to see all that well after 5 Juleps...hic.....but boy she will be happy.....you can have as many as you desire...as you aren't paying attention anyway lol.
Turn this into the Tour of The Garden of Good and Hammered.
Alternatively, Ill go and let you both know how it was, notes, photographs and all.....:>)
Im sure you will enjoy it really and as was suggested...there is always the night!!!!
Bon Voyage!
Jude

Well Bobert, when she asks the questions just tell her that you were so overwhelmed by her own beauty in relation to the stunning presence of the floral displays that you couldn't concentrate on anything else. It's pretty hard to slam the bathroom door on flattery.

I wish you could enjoy the garden
without the quiz. Gardens are nice.

Grown ups don't have to take quizzes.

Im sorry i cant take your place . i have always wanted to hit that tour. Great old gardens ! Sorry garden pottery is the other part of my life when Im not playing music so I would have a great time.there
If you get quizzed about plant matter again tell your better half that men are suppost to be the hard archutect types for making the walls and pathways for the plants (person) to fill . Someone said that at a lecture on woman and gardening once . Not my idea . It sounded good at the time .

While you're enjoying the southern aspect of spring I'm going to Calgary for a few days. My aunt tells me that it won't be a frigid cold. I may leave the heavy parka at home.

Tell her the species she refers to do NOT make her butt look fat.

Reminds me of the philsophical question, "If a husband speaks in the forest and there's no there to hear, is he still wrong?"

(not my own view, by the way)

Sounds like you're p-whipped.

I like gardens, even my own labour intensive backyard chaos.

Peace, Mooh.

You sure she just doesn't want to take you down there to teach you the proper way to prune lavender, Bobert?

see if you can find out what happend to the bird girl statue that used to stand in the garden of good and evil (or whatever) in Savannah. I hear she got vandalized. You know the one who like St. Francis holds her hand out with a bird feeder or bird bath in each hand...well, at least she used to..
