Good point - not sure of the answer - It's gone very quiet so we are hoping for the best for our `dude'

Good news though for the session

Mudcat Alternative British Folk Awards

Here is the announcement you have all been waiting for. THIS YEARS WINNERS ARE:

BEST PUB SESSION (REGULAR)
Once more goes to The Bull in Barton-Le-Clay who managed to muster more votes than all their rivals added together.

And well done Guru:

HORIZONTAL AWARD (Best drinker)
Once again, this was awarded to Hilary Ward who continues to claim that she doesn't remember drinking very much.

Hope we taught you everything you need to know Guru

That's just what the truly talented say to get the other people to practise. I've been doing it for years on and off and it has not worked. CU soon, Dude.

Hi Martin - have to ask Ian C on the 21st April (must be at least 10 as it was double all the others put together) - or we could be into infinite maths (i.e whats double 0?)

I went to Letchworth the friday before last and st albans last sunday

no plans this weekend, so see you monday

Is the audition on tuesday at 7pm at Greenbank - are we all going to blue anchor afterwards?

How was Cornwall - shouldn't you start a thread with an account?

I always suspected Guru of having firm foundations.

May I inspect them when we are together on Tueday at the day care centre gig in leatherhead and yes, we are into leather and ....dont even think about it

Yes - you don't often hear a lady refer to her firm foundations

Morticia - you're not Kate from Bristol are you?

No joke intended

I will mostly be doing - Baby Driver, A Most Peculiar Man and Richard Cory

It's not compulsory to know the words off by heart (is it?)

I should imagine there will be 100 different versions of 'feeling groovy'

How was Piers - does he still read the Mudcat?

Did Paul Simon cover or write the `Wild Rover'

Him & Art were always singing - 'no nay never no more'

I still have not managed to contact Peirs yet, but I don't think he could still be on the Mudcat cos he has not left a message. Do they have computers that far up north? What a brilliant night that was 16 people all together, and some of them might come back. Thanks to everyone who came last night. See you later Ross 7.00pm Cheers Dude. And well done on winning the competition.

Many thanks to all comers last night

Including Derek Girvan, Dave & Tina Auld, Steve, John P, Trevor, Mike Orwin, Tony Vasse, Angela & Jim, Bert & Pat Tann, John Birch and Bill

With MD & me = 16 - very good turnout

I was shocked to win the prize - many thanks - it's brilliant

I'm obviously more obsurer than I realised

Well done Ross, you won it not only with the most obsurer song, but the most obsurer songs as well. (if that is how you spell it)

I even spell obscurer the wrong way - how obscure can you get, when it's not even a proper word

I am sat here quantity surveying in a builders office in Redbourn counting bricks and money

But there's sunshine coming through the window and I'm listening to Paul Simon

Well done Martin on getting us through to the grand final - brilliant

I'm glad I wasn't there. I don't know any Paul Simon songs in 5/4.

5/4 time - nobody told us we had play the songs in a specific time

I think we went through most of the timings on every song

Specially Martin stopping to turn the page over - seven times in one three page song

No wonder Art gets so grumpy

And I forgot the chords just as Del boy was getting in to his solo.

Didn't notice Martin - it sounded effortlessly seamless

it was a bit like Frank Zappa plays Paul Simon

How are the plague systems coming along - I've started using maggots to clean up my scabs - they're very good and available on NHS/your local friendly chemist/angling shop
