My Lagan Love in French - is this OK?

(1) Is this French or Babelfish?
(2) Has anyone else done it?
(3) If not, anyone fancy trying the rest of the verses?

Sorry I can't to accents, if you can do French you'll know where they are supposed to be.

Ou Lagan fleuve chante ses berceuses
Ma jolie rose demeurre.
La crepuscule est dans ses yeux,
La nuit sur ses cheveux,
Et comme une fee elle m'a attrape,
Mon coeur elle tient toujours.
Elle a ma vie, ma liberte-
La reine de mon amour.

Looks good to me and a pretty decent translation. I think this would sound lovely in French!

I would prefer la reine de mon coeur in the last line.

Babelfish, unfortunately, makes no allowance for scansion or rhyme. If you wish to translate a song using babelfish, I would suggest that the best method is to translate the song (with suitable scansion/rhyme) and the use babelfish to translate it back to the original language to see if the translation 'rings true'.
See German Folk Song for the general idea

"Ou Lagan fleuve" is not possible.

1. THis is Babelfish or similar automated translation.
2. Running it through Babelfish backwards produces:

Or Lagan river sings its lullabies
My pretty pink demeurre.
The crepuscule is in its eyes,
the night on its hair,
And as a fee it has me trap,
My heart it always holds.
It has my life, my freedom
it queen of my love.

I think this is a good translation, certainly better than I could come up with. Just a couple of grammatical points:

- "Lagan river" doesn't translate directly as "Lagan fleuve"; you might want to try "Ou (with accent grave) le Lagan ..."

- "demeurre" should be "demeure"

I agree with Amos about "la reine de mon coeur".
