I am interested in knowing if any or all of the Samuel P. Bayard Collection of ballads and instrumental music collected from the hills of SW. Pennsylvania in 1928 is currently available to purchase or copy in staff notation form (lead sheet or melody only is fine). I know 1/2 of the collection was printed in 1982 as Dance to the Fiddle,March to the Fife and it appears it was also printed in 1944 as Hill Country Tunes. Thanks for your help, harperB |

Contact hlm@sas.upenn.edu if you intend to visit. The published volume is almost unobtainable for purchase. Jeff Todd Titon, 2001, Old Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes, pub. Univ. Kentucky, is still available ($45) but may become hard to get as well. |
