The following stanzas (in modern translation) describe the arrival of Love (in the form of a great noble lord) and the procession that greets him. It was the holy day of Easter, the sun was shing bright gold. All men, birds and lovely flowers went singing to greet Love The birds greeted him,rooks and nightingales larks and parrots, large and small, they sang beautiful songs of sweet delight. The best singers created the greatest joy. The trees greeted him with branches and flowers of different kinds and varied colours, Men and women in love greeted him and minstrals brought out many instruments. The Moorish guitar sang its lament, high and harsh in tone The portly lute accompanies a rustic dance and the Western guitar joins with them. The crying rebec with its high notes and the rote playing the Arabic orabyn song The psaltry also with them, higher than La Mota castle The plectrum guitar dances in time. The Moorish psaltry, harp and rebec the French gavotte swings lively with them. The flute speaks too, higher than a cliff, along with the side drum - it's not worth a fig without it.
