12 Apr 04 - 08:29 PM (#1160303) Subject: Kendall's rotten luck From: kendall Got a wake up call today. As you know, I've looked forward to going to England for months, and yesterday, I suddenly got a terrible pain in my left side. Didn't sleep at all last night, and tody it was so bad I went to my doctor. He examined me, and said "You need to go to the hospital for x rays to rule out a pullmonary embolism. If that's what it is, you aint going nowhere! I thought, just my luck. So I went, and apparently it is a pulled muscle from yanking my 100 pound dog off another dog. Doctor said, "Go, and sin some more" so I'm off to Old Blighty tomorrow. |

12 Apr 04 - 11:27 PM (#1160414) Subject: RE: Kendall's rotten luck From: Barbara You know, of course, that you can do serious damage to a dog, yanking one off another that way? At least if they were engaged in promiscuous behavior. You just have to wait for them to cool down (hence the hose). You're lucky you didn't get some salient portion of your anatomy bitten off for your troubles. Get thee away from the dog. England just might be far enough. Blessings, Barbara |

13 Apr 04 - 05:09 AM (#1160557) Subject: RE: Kendall's rotten luck From: Dave Bryant Glad that you're OK Kendall and that we should be seeing you soon. I know that we're all supposed to be kind to animals, but isn't pulling off a dog going a bit to far - especially as most of them seem to be able to lick themselves anyway. Dick - we're keeping a bucket of cold water handy in case we need it for Kendall and Jacqui. I must admit that I've never found that it really works for dogs - It just makes them steam more ! |
13 Apr 04 - 05:31 AM (#1160569) Subject: RE: Kendall's rotten luck From: jacqui.c You keep that water away from me Mr Bryant. If I'm enjoying myself I don't want any interruptions!!! Same for the lack of the BS heading. Joe, you can move it to BS if you wish, we don't want to upset the nameless malcontents. I don't understand how a pain of such magnitude can be totally under control after only two days, but, there it is, I don't have to dread that plane ride quite as much now. |

13 Apr 04 - 12:28 PM (#1160944) Subject: RE: Kendall's rotten luck From: SINSULL And on the other side of town...Mary gets a message at the Office Max where Kendall was to meet her that he won't becoming. He is back at the hospital having xrays and blood tests. I am waiting for some friends to help me move furniture presumably in Kendall's van. So I am a nervous wreck wondering what could possibly have gone wrong. And i can't leave because the help is on the way. And...as we try to move a huge desk up to my spare room, it slips. Brian's hand is caught between the desk and wall. I am trapped in the stairwell and can't go for help. With a huge effort, I moved the desk, he moved his hand and the desk came back on me. It must have looked like Moe, Larry and Curley at work. It took two neighbors to get me out of the stairwell. Brian soaked in ice water for half an hour before his fingers agreed to move. It looked as if four were broken. So we emerged with a badly bruised hand, a sore shoulder, and a painfully wounded ego. My neighbors were trying hard not to laugh the whole time. This was all Kendall's fault. I am not sure why but blaming him makes me feel better. Had he been at hand with a hose we could have been dissuaded from trying to move the desk upstairs in one piece. I fed him a hot breakfast and put him in a van to Boston from whence he flies to Montreal then on to England. He is your responsibilty now. DO NOT send him back with a litter of llamas or anything else. Feed him well. See that he gets regular sleep. And don't put up with his curmudgeonness. It taken two years to civilize the old bastard and I don't want to have to start from scratch again. Funny - I never interfere in Seamus' love life. None of my business. But I do steer him away from dachsunds and toward larger ladies. Given the back problems in that family, it only makes sense. TATA SINS |
13 Apr 04 - 03:25 PM (#1161052) Subject: RE: Kendall's rotten luck From: Deckman Damnit Sins ... You've GOT to stop doing that! I came home from work, checked mudcat, read your last posting and started laughing. I laughed so hard that I fell back in my chair and it collapsed on the cat. He yelled and scared his little sister out of a sound sleep. She fell off the freezer, where she sleeps, broke a potted plant on the way down. The soil from the potted plant splattered all over the floor. I ran into the room to see what she was hollering about and I slipped on the dirt. The medics just left, I've got one cat at the vet's, they say my ankle is only bruised, but we'll need new carpet now. Like I said ... YOU'VE GOT TO STOP POSTING THESE NOTES! Bob |
