13 Apr 04 - 11:53 PM (#1161419) Subject: Obit: Sad News abt Tommy Rowe From: BK I was stunned & very saddenned when, a few days ago, in a casual conversation w/Bill Staines, he mentioned that Tommy Rowe died of cancer early this year. Bill said he'd apparently been doing ok w/his treatments & was expected to be ok for a while, when he suddenly died. If I were a bass player "hammer hands" would have been the guy I wanted to emulate & as a simple "3-chord folkie," I loved his tunes & lyrics - and his performances w/the other members of Schooner Fare. When seeing them in person, my wife would delight in putting pieces of paper under his mike stand requesting SF favorites he wrote. We were both in shock. He will be sorely missed. I don't do blue clicky things but you can find out a little more by searching google under "Schooner Fare." There we discovered (should've guessed!) he was a Unitarian, as are we.
