Do you ever get tired of the 'doom and gloom' utterings found in the middle of Newspapers? Do you think the double speak is a conscious act or are they inspired by something else?

I think it is born ou of the compulsion to sell papers by making them electrifying. I think it gets pretty automatic, though. It is not just newspapers. Any medium rying to survive in the marketplace does it.
