Hi, Mudcatters!

Someone knows where is possible to get some Pete Seeger's Banjo Tabs or Transcripions from his records?

Some interesting books (I already have his first legendary "How to play...")?

Thanks for help!

I can think of two approaches: Write him at Box 231, Beacon, New York or phone him, if he's listed. I can't give his number out without permission.

There's a fair amount of material tabbed out in Pete's book, WHere Have All the Flowers Gone (Sing Out!, 1993 -- and a new edition due out soon). What in particular are you looking for?

I'm looking for the tab. of "Lady Margaret".

The break is very similar to the tune "Shady Groove" but I have some problem with verses.

I'm interested to every Pete's banjo tabs of traditional songs.

Thanks for help!!!

Does anyone know where I can get a tab for Pete Seeger's version of Cindy? I love the way he plays it-especially when he has Buffy Sainte Marie accompanying on the mouth bow

A book of Pete's arrangements need to be done. You can't count on him to do it.
He's too busy.

The recording "Darlin' Corey" is on that really should be done.

Whoever does it would probably find a publisher.

There's a transcription of "Darlin' Corey" in Pete's "How To Play The Five String Banjo". Well, at least it's a transcription of the version he used when he was learning it. It's in a sort of a two-finger style where the melody works its way around a drone set up on the first and fifth strings. (All this from memory as I don't have the book in front of me.) Oh, and it requires tuning your banjo down to an open D (aDF#AD IIRC). Worth the effort, though.
