Warning ... these people are trouble. Thay had the audacity to start singing from the Public Gallery in the B.C. Legislature a couple of years back -- sonmething to do with cuts to services for women and children in need. The Seargeant-at-Arms rightly threw them into gaol. They also like to go to the supermarket at lunchtime when we office workers are in a hurry and then they pay for the cat food precisely ("Hang on a minute my dear, I think I have a nickle in my purse ... somewhere ... now where did I put it ...") AND they drive around on motor-scooters like they own the sidewalk ... OAPs are nothing but trouble.

I can't wait to be old ;o)

Now there is a group truly worthy of our respect. They have brought many important issues to the front pages over the years, more power to them.

I can't wait to be a raging granny. Although I tried to stay informed as a young mother, I was much to busy to be truly, active. As the children grew older, I began participating in a few public protests but always held back because I wondered who would take care of my children if I went to jail. At this point, I only have a few years to retire and do not want to jeopardize my job or my pension. But just wait..... As an OAP, I will definitely be out there on the streets.

My son was involved in the Claquot protests and was tried with a couple of older, Quaker women. He really appreciated the fact that these women were there and that they supported what the younger folks were protesting. It made him feel that he wasn't alone.

Happy Independence Day! Today was my first outing with the Raging Grannies without Borders, in Detroit. We rode on a float sponsored by the Ann Arbor peace community at the A2 parade. What a hoot!
