20 Apr 04 - 10:24 AM (#1166113) Subject: Beverley Folk Festival-stewards needed! From: GUEST This year's festival is fast approaching and it is time to ask if you would be interested in becoming one of our volunteer stewards/helpers for the festival. Our volunteers play an important role in the smooth running of the festival and being a steward or helper can be fun, by meeting lots of new and familiar friends. As a volunteer steward we ask you to donate a minimum of 9 hours of your time during the festival weekend. In order for us to ensure that all stewards and helpers are fully aware of their responsibilities over the weekend, and to familiarise them with the festival (for new volunteers), we would ask you to attend a short meeting on Friday evening, and possibly on Saturday and Sunday mornings for some stewards. In return for your time, we would like to offer you: - a weekend pass for the festival (entry subject to space available in the venue) - a FREE festival T-shirt! - you will be eligible for concessionary rate tickets for some of the events in out year-round festival promotional concert series - a copy of our regular Festival Newsletter If you would like to help at this year's festival, please download a steward form from our website or contact Steward Co-ordinator Amanda Smith for more information. We look forward to hearing from you! If you have helped in previous years, and want to remain in our team, we would appreciate you filling in a form to help us keep your details updated. |

29 Apr 04 - 01:13 PM (#1174193) Subject: RE: Beverley Folk Festival-stewards needed! From: Raggytash As a steward of many years standing at many festivals across the UK I would find nine hours to be a tad too much, yes a have done a 13 hour day one year at Otley but that was because someone else had let the organisers down. I should recommend a word with Richard Beswick for advice on this one Raggy |

29 Apr 04 - 02:21 PM (#1174243) Subject: RE: Beverley Folk Festival-stewards needed! From: The Borchester Echo Nine hours over 4 days isn't a lot when you get a free season and camping thrown in! I did it last year and had a great time and saw all the acts at least once. Because of a clash of commitments I cannot go this year and have reluctantly turned down the offer. I recommend anyone who's free to give it a go. |

There is no need to hide a cassette player in a cream phone box that starts to hiss and emit smoke when played once. The player that is, not the cream phone box. |
