Can someone out here help me? I'm looking for the tune Alabama Jubilee. It's pretty common Mummers and Dixieland bands, I'm just not haveing any luck finding Tenor Banjo Tabs on the web. Not being a trad tenor player, I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a cheet sheet.

Don't see how guitar chords can help a tenor banjo player.

Assuming that you tune your tenor banjo like the Irish players do - an octave below a mandolin, you could search for mandolin tablature.
If I want to search for stuff on the web I usually use http://vivisimo.com/ because it groups the results into more easily checkable - or ignorable categories.
Put a suitable search string into their box e.g. "Alabama Jubilee mandolin tab" (in this cae without the "" Marks)and it will bring up a load of web pages to check out - e.g. http://www.alltabs.com/mandolin_tabs.php.
Of course, if you tune to original tenor tuning, you would have fingering for a diffreent key, but could transpose to the key you want to play it in.
Quack!

Yes, it all depends on how you tune the banjo......my tenor banjo player uses a standard guitar tuning.

Just the 4, but he uses the top 4 strings of a guitar. Sorry, don't know more than that. I don't play either.

Thanks for your suggestions Folks. I'm unfortunately looking for a fairly traditional arrangment, for tenor banjo,(CGDA). I play Irish tenor, (GDAE), mando, guitar,... So I've got a good idea what I'm looking for. I find it interesting that there does not seem to be very much on the internet about American tenor banjo, or jazz banjo. I've found the tune and arrangement I want in a book, that I can buy for $457.00. I'm sure the book is a great collection of material, and fully worth the cost, but I just need the one tune for one gig. Are there any Dixieland or string band players out there with any other suggestions. Alltabs.com is definatly a bluegrass arrangment.

Thanks again
