As long as a piece of string. Hopefully a short one in this case...

imagine there's a figment
its simple if you can
no reason to post or argue
a mudcathood of man
imagine all the catters
living for todaaaay..

you may say I'm a dreamer
but this is not the only thread
and the MOABS threads
is a longer one instead..

imagine there's a pigment
many colours in our mind..
as we write and dream and argue
and blither on in a long long line..

Wrong! How Long is not a thread! How Long is the guy that owns the Chinese restaurant in the strip mall across from WalMart.

The MOAB is no longer a thread. It has attained the status of subculture.

ch:
How long, how long, has that evenin' thread been on?
How long, how long, baby how long.

Heard the rants a blowin', couldn't see the point
Way down in my legs I had an achin' joint.
How long, How long, how long.

How long, how long, has that evenin' chat been on?
How long, how long, baby how long.

If I could holler like a mountain goat
I'd go up on the thread and post a plaintive note.

I went up on the thread, looked as far as I could see
The woman had my man and the blues had poor me.

I can see the green grass growin' on the hill
But I ain't seen the green grass on a dollar bill.

I'm goin' down the country, been up in wild sydney
So look me over baby, last you'll see of me.

The post runs into the thread, thread runs away from me
If I don'r run into ther chat room, nothin goin' to run into me.

ch:
How long, how long, has that evenin' thread been on?
How long, how long, baby how long.

MOABS is not a thread. It is a tapestry.

No! no! Not a travesty!

depends on the thread - knitting threads are commonly 50 or 100 metres long, however if it's a stranded embroidery cotton, it's the same length as stranded silk, 8 metres, & good old sewing thread comes in spools of 100 or 500 metres.

just depends

oh, Hrothgar mentioned tapestry & those threads normally come in hanks 13.7metres/15yards long

Well is where you get water, as my old friend Millie used to say. He would also finish every sentance with "well", so naturally we called him Millie-well.

It's not How Long that owns the the restaurant. It is How High, his brother:-)

normally a thread is just long enough to reach from one end to the other - but if your tension is loose it could be longer. knots tend to increase the absolute length though they reduce the apparent length.

Speaking of the How brothers - didn't the oldest (How Cum) own a brothel down in chinatown?

No - you're all wrong.

Howlong is a little town just west of Albury on the NSW/Vic border (that's in Oz). It's probably most famous as the location of one of Oz's most famous murders - The Pyjama Girl case.

No, it's a Chinese guy. His full name is How Long Dong. He runs a grocery in Chinatown next door to Fah Kyu Chinese Laundry.
