27 Apr 04 - 09:14 AM (#1172205) Subject: RE: BS: How long is a thread????Well????? From: Sandra in Sydney depends on the thread - knitting threads are commonly 50 or 100 metres long, however if it's a stranded embroidery cotton, it's the same length as stranded silk, 8 metres, & good old sewing thread comes in spools of 100 or 500 metres. just depends oh, Hrothgar mentioned tapestry & those threads normally come in hanks 13.7metres/15yards long Well is where you get water, as my old friend Millie used to say. He would also finish every sentance with "well", so naturally we called him Millie-well. |

27 Apr 04 - 09:34 AM (#1172221) Subject: RE: BS: How long is a thread????Well????? From: GUEST,MMario normally a thread is just long enough to reach from one end to the other - but if your tension is loose it could be longer. knots tend to increase the absolute length though they reduce the apparent length. Speaking of the How brothers - didn't the oldest (How Cum) own a brothel down in chinatown? |
