From: SueB I heard a song back in the eighties, sung by two folkie guys: Something about You do the bakin' and I'll do the makin' How our lives will rise Yes! You do the bakin' and I'll do the makin' Spinning and singing together our lives away... and there was a verse about Once in a dream lived a maiden of (something that rhymes with in) She sat by the fire and all day she would spin And there by her window early in the spring I would sit back and to her I'd sing Oh yeah! to her I would sing... I was thinking of this song as a candidate for really bad songs thread, but anyway I won't be able to get it out of my head 'til I know the whole deal, and who the perpetrators were, so HELP! |

And it took me a while, but luckily I remembered some of their other songs and tracked them down that way.... Aztec TwoStep was the duo's name. |

Rex Fowler wrote a song called BAKING which appeared on their first album "Aztec Two-Step" (1972) and on "See, It Was Like This" (1989). I found a sound sample which revealed only this correction: "Spinning and singing together our TIME away" |
