It looked as though performances would be sparse last bight but the whole thing went well....and the blonde lady(sorry but don't know your name) gave a memorable performance...what a voice!!!! Hope you have booked her Les. Be Blessed. |

01 May 04 - 06:36 AM (#1175676) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Club Friday 30th April From: Strollin' Johnny It was scared in case Avril came! The blonde lady (whose name I know but, as usual, it escapes me at the moment) was indeed excellent, great voice and nice guitar. She came to the 8JB about 10 years ago, disappeared, reappeared at 'Routes To Music' at Scunny about a year ago, claimed she's too busy to sing any more, disappeared and then reappeared last night. I've given her firm instructions to grace us with her presence again. A good neet all round. I'll do 'Rosemary's Sister' next time - decided to leave it out at the end so that the Midnight Skiffle Club could get started. Johnny :0) |

01 May 04 - 09:16 AM (#1175745) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Club Friday 30th April From: Georgiansilver Thanks sooz, nice to know who we are talking about.. but what is the fish called?. I believe I was in the way of people leaving when I helped to cause all that (skiffle???) racket last night. I do apologise but it was a good way to let you hear how bad my singing of old pop songs is, especially when accompanied by a bur... bru.....busk.....one of those multi talented blokes who plays on street corners and who people sometimes give money to..IF they like what they hear or something like that eh????. Nobody gave us a red cent last night so we must have been bad!!!! I enjoyed it anyway... Be Blessed. |
