After all the rain we've had - there are still clouds in the way! (Oh, and the ceiling etc. I shouldn't try star-gazing while on Mudcat...)

Here (Munich, Germany) the lunatic ;-) eclipse is a complete one - all the sky is eclipsed by clouds...

there is a total clear sky for the last 30 mins where i am, in `Ull.

i can just see half the moon, and half of it in shadow. it looks really cool.

Woa, that was scary. Thankfully, my dancing naked in the street worked, and Diana sent the moon back to us. That was a close call!

That was good, the sky's just great isn't it. Can anyone explain in a really unscientific way, what we just saw? What caused the shadow?

The sun provided the light, the earth provided the shadow that fell on the moon

Well, here in Old South Wales the cloud cleared long enuf. With my visual problems I can't comment on the colour, but me butty Rodger says it were a good copper colour.

Impresive - This is the first time in my 50 odd years that I have seen a total eclipse of the moon.

Sulk! I kept looking but the clouds didn't clear in the right places until too late.

First saw it at 10. 10 UK time and the very bottom was just lit, the rest blood red. By 11.30 it seemed full brightness even though it must have been still partially eclipsed (within umbra).
