SESSIONFEST A folk music event JUNE 11-14TH (LONG WEEKEND)
at WALKA WATER WORKS - MAITLAND (Australia)

NO FESTIVAL FEE - NO PAID PERFORMERS

An invitation is extended to all 'folkies' (muso's, singers, bush poets & yarn spinners etc) to join us in this unique opportunity. Come together, session, learn from one another & enjoy music in a relaxed atmosphere, at a great heritage site with most amenities provided.

WEEKEND CAMPING $20/ADULT - CHILDREN 16 & UNDER FREE

DAY VISITORS - $3/CAR

Activities: sessions / blackboard sessions / bushwalks / damper making workshop /
more sessions / Also, museum and other activities presented by Walka Waterworks Trust.

Amenities: water / toilets / showers / BBQ's / firewood / camping / parking / campfires /
'crash' tent available / wet weather venues with good acoustics / gardens / native flora & fauna / powered camping sites -'very limited' number - for people with medical conditions

Food: kiosk (breakfast, lunch & dinner – light meals) / food van - open late / byo grog

Kids activities: mini train / some music, art, & craft activities arranged eg kite making w/s

Note: please avoid bringing glass where possible / no pets please due to native wildlife / this is a heritage site - please be considerate of others and environmentally responsible / nearest railway station is Maitland / disabled toilets / easy access to much of the site / this site runs on a septic system so please keep showers short / Performers are invited to bring their merchandise to sell (eg CD's etc).

We won't go north of Sydney on a long weekend, the traffic is murder. We're going south for the Scarecrow Festival at Milton!

I'm seriously thinking of coming to Maitland that weekend, and so is a friend of mine, Chrissie. Sounds very fun and relaxing. I'll be taking the hot water bottle and the doona and the winter woolies though.

I would have been going to Albion Park if it hadn't been cancelled. That would have been even colder! Nearly got blown away there last year, as Sandra can attest!
