It's that time again and I'm late, late, late with this notice. (But I've, uh, had a few other things on my plate.)

May Sea Music Singaround, Saturday, May 15, 3:30-7:30 p.m. at The Press Room, Daniel Street, Portsmouth, NH.

And this time Curmudgeon will be there performing his session meister duties.

Looks like Judy, Nor, Dick and I are all coming from Roll & Go.

Be nice if Kendall showed up so we could sing appropriate and inappropriate birthday songs.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Montreal's closer than Ottawa -- and CET has come to the session a couple times. June 19th will be the date. And, remember, we have a general mixed session Friday afternoon/evening from 4-8:45 p.m., too.

Charley -- mind if I hang on to a couple of the CDs for another few weeks? I'll return everything else, but could use some more listening time.

Linn (feeling harried and harrassed and it's not even 7 a.m. -- sigh)

So harried and harrassed that I forgot what I was going to say!

Definitely need some INAPPROPRIATE birthday songs for Kendall!

Linn-

No problem with keeping the CD's longer. But be warned, after 3 months they self-destruct.

I regret that I probably won't make it. DoubleMac (probably with cheese) (Cormac McCarthy) is doing a songwriting workshop and concert at Klankashankahank Farm, and I feel a need to heckle. Haven't seen him live (the day job isn't 'live') since 198-something. I'll probably be at the Press Room briefly tomorrow night as have to return Jeff's concertina. I'm gonna learn at least one tune before he gets it back though. ;-)

I've also come to the conclusion that my allergy symptoms are possibly due to a virus. I'd rather risk infecting a bunch of singer-songwriters than folks at the Press Room - especially Tom.

Got pictures from last weekend as well as St Pats. If my brain continues to function long enough, I'll stick 'em on a CD.

Yet again, I'm otherwise engaged. It's the annual Nelson "Out of the Woodwork" community concert, and I'm in at least 2 spots! Maybe next month...

Jeri-

Well, it does sound like you'll be having fun. Now if you've told us you had to spend Saturday tidying up your house, we might protest. But a songwriting workshop with Cormac McCarthy sounds like a well deserved treat.

Well, sounds like a nice low key singing session -- with plenty of time to discuss the songs in between. Always my favorite combination.

And actually, Charley, I'll have most of the CDs and gear back to you tomorrow. Maybe all, but I'm still frantically listening, etc.

Well, if Jeri won't be around, I'll return Hissyfit to her at another time.

Too much music; not enough tim.

I'm sorry I won't be able to make this one on such short notice I was hoping this sing would be later in the month. I am hoping to be down real soon(honest), probably for a Friday session.

You coulda returned it tonight, other than the fact you seemed to be schlepping a ton of stuff around.

Went to the Press Room briefly, and my energy level wasn't up to coping with everyone else's and my nasal passages have slammed shut. Ate a sausage in the square, watched bikers, was startled by a pigeon, returned the concertina and came home. There are a few rocks out back that have more energy than I do.

Y'all have fun. I have one new CD I'll be learning some new songs from - hopefully before someone else does! Next time...

I did intend to come, but, a gang of friends invited me to help celebrate my brother's birthday. Maybe next month.

Oh, Kendall, you've always got an excuse . . .

At least next month's won't conflict with Market Square Day in Portsmouth.

Market Square Day? Does that mean that a whole lot of tourists are gonna be rampin' round the town, stealing the choice parking spots, and frightenin' children and the other local wild life?

Well, there's still four of us coming to the Press Room. And we'll be disclosing our top secret plans for a "shanty raid" on the upcoming Old Port Festival in Portland on Sunday, June 6th. Be there with your riggin' squared!

Market Square Day is in June -- last year it was the same day that also conflicted with Mystic. I think there were 5 or 6 of us at the shanty sing -- and one was 8 years old. But it was lovely and we got Clara (the eight year old) really interested in the music, not only the singing, but Brien's whistle. (She plays clarinet.)

Should be clear sailing today -- and I've e-mailed a few reminders, late, of course, but I HAVE had a lot on my plate lately.

Hope that you guys have fun tonight. I wanted to get the word out to any Salty sailors out there, that Captain Lane Briggs of the Norfolk Rebel fame is under the weather. If any of you all know Lane - this is unusual. He was in Marathon, Fla on his boat Black Dog, and admitted himself into the hospital there a couple weeks ago. He has been brought home and is diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He is undergoing Chemo. Prayers are welcome. We had a Chantey sing last Tues at his marina, and he came in for a while. But he is really weak. Thanks. Have one for us in Norfolk. Heely

Prayers and other good thoughts coming from this direction.

You may want to start a new thread -- your message will get lost in this thread which is dated, and pretty Portsmouth, NH-centric. If you start a thread, more people will get the word.

Is there an address for cards, etc.?
