17 May 04 - 08:12 PM (#1187517) Subject: RE: Sorcha in Hull From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Heloo, we went to the pub, and loads of people went, like el ted, and oaklet, and sofire, and george 9 skipjack9, and narrow, and loads of peple like that, and we went to that beverley road pub, and then we went to ADelpihi, aand it was really nice, and El Ted and Sofia did some songs, and Nahrow did some tunes, and it was really nice, and SOrcha was going to do some tunes, but she had too many bears, so just listened. and some other people went, but i forgot who they was, and sorcha enjoyed it, and said 2 hull is really nice, i wisch i came here before2. then we went to the kebab ship on nEwLand AVe, and we got 2 big massive kebabs, and i know that bloke waht owns that place, so he put loads of meet in them, and it was really nice., and he give me a can of coke as well, 9worth 50p; [thats 10 shillings in old money! he's called ABdull, he's got a citren AX, they are shit, i had one, it was rubbish, you can see them in auction for about 100 quid, i dont know waht he bought it for, they are rubbish.john ps, my frend called Mahmood works there as well, he pays guitar, and he is called Mahmood.john |

I wish you could all have seen jOhn9 holding me tightly by the hand while I staggered my way thru Hull.......I never did get to eat the kebabs.....they went home with jOhn. About the Adlephi....they could hoover and clean the loos once in a while, but the fellowship was wonderful. My Maggie fiddle sounds wonderful in the hands of a master. Bassic brought her here at about 4 PM, first thing she said was "Hey, you got any alcohol here?"! We went to The Adelphi, but it took us about half an hour to walk 100 yards, as Sorcha was staggering about! Luckily Bassic turned up and gave us a lift. The Adelphi has got character! |

We took her down to a friendly pub - one I'd recomend to anyone but there were a couple of people I've never met before in there and.. after a demand for a cigarette was made from to sorcha coming in, we sit at a table (my plan to avoid trouble) and after another demand for a ciggie, I thought it best sorcha and I should have a game of pool to get to the other bar. They got wind of us wanting a game of pool and we ended up with a doubles game, again to try to be pleasant. Our "frindly opponent" would stand over the table and shout "MISS" when a pot went wrong. I've never seen anything like it. It reached a point in the game where I had an easy black (Im crap but would have sunk that easily) over the middle. I opted to tell her I was too angry to be bothered to play it, that I didn't like her (by that time 3 scrounging of sorcha's fags as well as the miss calls ) and that if she wanted to win the game of pool, she was welcome... I just smacked the black at random. Sorcha actually won the game on her next visit. Jon (not sure I've described it well but the pub is a good pub. no idea where these people came from... but I'd guss it was so silly that sorcha and I will laugh about the event for the rest of our lives) |
