I'm off to light a joss stick, sit in the lotus position and chew on a few shrooms. I'd love to hug a tree, but those capitalist bastard son's and daughters of the anti-christ Thatcher have chopped them all down to build executive housing estates, out of town shopping centres and motorways. |

21 May 04 - 05:29 AM (#1190577) Subject: RE: BS: Mrs Thatcher, the glory years. From: GUEST,Johnny Miner I take it you're not an ex miner then el ted who had your job and community destroyed, or a traveller or anyone who wanted to lead a lifestyle a little out of the ordinary and didn't worship mammon. Did you ever see a documentary called the Battle of Orgreave? Ever seen footage on the Battle of the Beanfield? Thatcher gave orders to beat seven shades out of miners and travellers. The old bitch should be hung, drawn and quartered for what she did. I for one will be having a few celebratory drinks when she pops her clogs. |
21 May 04 - 05:35 AM (#1190579) Subject: RE: BS: Mrs Thatcher, the glory years. From: el ted Nope, I'm a builder. But I had to hop from one company to another though as the recession bit and they folded underneath us. I was made redundant twice in the 80's, so it wasn't just miners who got stuffed. |
21 May 04 - 06:05 AM (#1190590) Subject: RE: BS: Mrs Thatcher, the glory years. From: GUEST,Johnny Miner According to you the 80's, when St. Margaret of Grantham was at her height, were the glory years, so if you were made reduntant twice, they weren't THAT glorious. At least you didn't have your skull smashed by a policeman acting on her orders, unlike some miners and travellers. Thatcher had a habit of stuffing anyone who didn't fit in with her yuppie world order. Glory years? Nope. |
