20 May 04 - 06:13 PM (#1190167) Subject: BS: Good thoughts needed From: Hollowfox I found out this morning that my mother had a slight heart attack. It was so slight that, had a telltale enzyme not turned up in a blood test, they wouldn't have diagnosed it properly. Still, she's not as young as she used to be. She's always been "the strong one", taking care of whatever needs to be done. When I talked to her just before she had an angiogram this morning, she admitted that she was scared. She's one of the few people in this world I'll back down from, so when she said that...well, I'm a bit frightened as well. So, I'm asking for any prayers, candles, blessings or good thoughts anybody has laying around that they can spare. (Yes, WYSIWYG, feel free to put this on your prayer circuit.) Thanks in advance, Mary |

20 May 04 - 09:34 PM (#1190346) Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts needed From: Bat Goddess Prayers, white light, plenty of healing thoughts. The angiogram will let them know what's what and what to do about it. Modern cardiac technology is amazing -- I'm married to the "Quarter Million Dollar Man" (good news is that there IS financial assistance out there) and the important thing is that with a new aortic valve, repaired tricuspid valve and a double bypass, he's in better shape than ever before. And recovering very very quickly. It'll all be fine -- better she find out about it now and get something done than, than, well, you know, those things we don't talk about. All the best for a speedy recovery. Linn |

21 May 04 - 08:00 AM (#1190643) Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts needed From: GUEST,Mr Red one idea I heard that appealed to me say your goodbyes before anything happens - it may happen too fast for procrastination to catch-up. My mother was a young widdow and I have been close to a few widdows in adulthood and they obviously never imagined it was necessary. It leaves a pile of "if only's". |

21 May 04 - 08:14 AM (#1190652) Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts needed From: GUEST,MMario Good thoughts for both of you going out. It's scary when the "strong" people in our life show a weakness....I remember when my dad had a malaria relapse - a man I had hardly ever known to sniffle, sneeze or have a cough - suddenly pale and listless and shaking in a bed - unable to rise. |

21 May 04 - 09:54 AM (#1190715) Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts needed From: Hollowfox So many thanks to all of you! When I got home and called last night at 9PM, she was already home! Keep in mind that the angiogram was done in a different towm, about thirty miles away. She'd come home, slept several hours, and was going to shower and go back to sleep. Sleep's the best cure for most things, in my book. They didn't find any plaque or anything. I was planning on going to visit her next weekend over the Memorial Day holiday anyway, so now we both have something to look ofrward to. Love and thanks again to you all! |

Weather and suchlike permitting, I'll go and visit her over this next weekend (USA holiday). As usual, I'll bring along my casette recorder and lots of tape for more family stories. I told her about this thread, and she appreciates all your help. Thanks again from me, Mary |
