For TV`s, if you dont want the latest technology but still want to buy new......try the electrical section of your nearest large Supermarket, Asda, Sainsburys Tesco etc. Otherwise the large electrical retailers like Comet and Currys are probably the most risk free but compare prices between them all for the best deal for what you actually want. No point in paying for features that you are not going to use. Also they will do finance if you need that as well but watch the APR`s and the cost of extra waranties which they will try to sell you.

Hi Fi is more complex. If you just want a nice looking box for the book shelf that will play your CD`s then those I have mentioned will be ok. If you want something a bit more refined than that then one place where there always seem to be a few bargains is   Richer Sounds

Yes jOhn - the only thing that puzzles me is that although he claims that they all "Fell off the back of a lorry" - none of them seems to badly damaged.
