2004-Washington (DC) Folk Festival

I just felt like mentioning to the world that the newly revived (after 3 year hiatus for park construction) WFF, which has been presented at Glen Echo park in Glen Echo, MD, north of Wash. DC almost every year since 1977 will happen again the weekend of June 5-6.

If you have anyway to get there, consider attending, as it is a special thing, featuring hundreds of performers from many cultures. Seven different stages/venues for music, dance, storytelling, crafts...etc.

This is a FREE festival, with all work and performances by volunteers.

Even if you can't make it, take a peek at the plans and schedules and be forever envious! *grin*...We have a great time, and feel pretty smug every time we manage to get thru this.

Yes, If you can come, you must try to make it! Especially because many great Mudcatters will also be performing!

On Sunday, the day starts with a Fantastic Performance from "The All New Genetically-Altered Jug Band featuring yours truly on Gutbucket, jug, and jawharps. (June 6th, Family Stage, Noon to 12:30). It ends with the fantabulous "Old Time Country Music Show" Featuring Chance and Suzette Shriver and many other wonderful musicians (Crystal Pool, 5:00 to 6:00 PM).

EAch alone is well worth the price of Admission!

And don't forget the jamming under the trees, that starts Saturday Morning, and runs continuously until Sunday evening.

Who else is scheduled to play?

JAB

Hey, this festival is worth FAR more than the price of admission.

Absolutely!

Big blow and the Bushwackers will be performing around 8PM Saturday not to be missed.

I will be running down from the Charles Village Festival in Baltimore to grab a few beers with a friend from Houston in our city and then right out to the festival.....

See you all there....

I am the guy with the car with the hands all over it...not to be missed somewhere in the lot....

Anybody going to post the schedule here, so we can make everyone jealous ( or come into town)? Or a list of performers?

I'll be there on Saturday BUT, sniff, not Sunday 'cause that's when I was gonna get to play... But you'll hear all my friend who I play with, the Archie Edwards Blues Foundation on Sunday.

Man, I hate to miss it 'cause I always get to lead at least one song when we take our stuff on the road, but, alas, I have a part planned at my house and gonna have to miss this one...

(Alias, "Sidewalk Bob" to the folks down at Archie Edwards Barber Shop...)

Well, Bobert...you gotta come by the crafts so I can show you what Arborvitae looks like all sanded up purty! (One of 'em is yours one day soon, too...)
