14 Oct 98 - 01:33 PM (#41666) Subject: Mudcat Help & Trouble Online Now! From: Max OK, because of Mudcat addiction, frequent requests and recent Mudcat problems, I have created a new resource. I put a simplified forum with some useful resources on another machine on our network. I explained it all over there, so check it out and bookmark it at: http://bodhi.mudcat.org. It is also accessible from the HELP buttons on the mudcat, as well as with the links on the top of the Main Forum Page. It will become more robust and integrated with the Mudcat Forum as the days roll on. Eventually it will contain an entire mirror of the mudcat (fail-over resource) as well as the searchable digitrad etc. Let me know what you think of the idea and the implimentation.
WARNING: Consider any data in the help forum temporary for now. That is, don't put anything in there that you won't mind disapearing. This is experimental and possible temporary at this stage. |

From: Max I also updated the profile function to allow one to change his or her own codename and removed a bug that also lets one update their own email address. To address some other membership errors, the crash lost some time, so anyone who has joined in the last month or so no longer exists and should rejoin. Those effected by this may not even be able to read this, so I sit waiting for emails from them. Also, the crash will have lost about a months worth of private messages, archives and sent messages. The threads were unharmed. See bodhi.mudcat.org for more detail on these issues. |
