02 Jun 04 - 06:49 AM (#1198378) Subject: Glaisdale Sunday From: GUEST,Raggytash Our now traditional Sunday jaunt out to Glaisdale during whitby folk week till take place this year on Sunday 15th August. The venue has changed to the Arncliffe Arms which most of you will be pleased to know is closer to the railway station, thus you don't have to climb the steep hill to the Moon & Sixpence. The train leaves Whitby at 12.36 arriving Glaisdale 12.59 the last train back leaves Glaisdale at 16.22 arriving Whitby approx 16.50. The change of venue was decided by two factors, one we were too crowded last year in the moon & Sixpence the second being it's now closed for good, that sort of settled the matter really. Wombat and I trailed up and down the line trying to find a suitable venue only to end up back in Glaisdale where we spoke to the landlord of the Arncliffe Arms (Alan) and asked if we could use his pub, he readily agreed and said he would open up the lower bar just for us. Look forward to seeing everyone there, but any romances that start up will be charged an introduction fee ...... Ted you still owe me ! Cheers Raggytash |
