Thanks for the thought Vectis but you have not met them - if I brought them there would be no room in the car for camping gear or guitar etc...

Unfortunately I won't be there, because me and Pat Turner are on at the Cleckheaton Festival that weekend. However, I would say that last year I had a lovely time. It all takes place in the village hall in Upper Dicker.   The village hall is just the right size and is beautifully decorated by Vectis and accomplices. The camping is on the field surrounding the village hall, which is flat and very good for tents and caravans. There's a kitchen, shower, real ale bar, excellent singing and playing and a very inclusive atmosphere. Next year we are having a 'Waltham Abbey Weekend Away' at the Sussex Song and Ale. This year the 'Waltham Abbey Weekend Away' is at the Moreton Midsummer Festival, which starts tomorrow.

But back to the Sussex Song & Ale, I say 'Go and and enjoy the delights'.

Hope you can make it

Puzzles me too Guru, but I'm beginning to get the impression you are only allowed to sing if you have booked yourself to do so.

We have a limit on the number of singers/players so that everybody gets to sing/play in each session.

Hilary, I don't think they'll be insisting on singer's tickets at the Rainham Session - so if you and Richard don't want to fight over who sings - why not pop down to the "Three Mariners" on Saturday.

Ah.... sounds like being able to make decisions in good time would have been best for this one. Wish I'd known about these 'singers tickets' before now (PC been very poorly), had thought that all were welcome. Ah well, maybe next year!

Sorry, I had no idea that I had been allocated a ticket. Had I been aware of that (or had a reply to my PM) I would have advised of my non-attendance in advance. I hope it did not stop anyone else singing.

Oh bugger - didn't realise you'd set tickets aside Mary, thanks! Went down with a cold on Friday anyway so stayed close to home, sulked & drank Benylin all weekend.

Definitely next year (clashes permitting) - will book early *grin*

Glad you all had a Brill time, catch you on the flip side...

Beer tastes much better than Benylin :-))
