Musical Quotation Required

Striking one item from my wish list I have ordered myself a reproduction wooden Victorian music stand. A quotation can be carved on the music 'sloop'. I'd appreciate suggestions.   No prizes but perhaps we can have a giggle with a few humorous ones as well.

I have, on a guitar handpainted by my old mate Terry White, a quote from an Incredible String Band song ; "Music is so much less than what you are."

Thanks guys but just how big are the music stands you folks own?   I think there has to be a ten word limit as the area is only 75 x 450mm.   I rather like "Hear the music, before the song ends"   from a poem by a terminally ill young girl.   But keep them coming.........

What instrument(s) is/are to be played? This might affect what quotation would be appropriate.

Variously attributed, but musically to composer Arnold Bax - Beecham later pinched it.

If you play for a dance band, another suitable one would be:
That made the buggers hop
Beecham - after conducting a ballet at an extra fast tempo, because he had an after performance dinner-date.

Dave Bryant: the Beecham quote, the way I heard it, was not"That made the buggers hop". He was actually conducting for the visiting Russian ballet company at the time, and Nijinsky was the star. And what Beecham said was "That made the little bugger hop"..Nijinsky being short, and also the other thing as well.

"Never mind the tune, just get on with the song"

And another quote I heard from the same person:

"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story".

Both sayings were, I believe, common among the bushwalking fraternity here in Newcastle & Hunter Region, on east coast Oz. The bushwalkers had a lot to do with the early Newcastle folk music scene too, because of all those sing-songs around the campfires after a long day of walking around in the bush (aka "forests": for you Northern Hemisphericals) .
