09 Jun 04 - 11:50 PM (#1204062) Subject: BS: The Secret of Greatness From: dick greenhaus After listening to flowery praise for the late President Reagan, it struck me that the secret of converting a lousy President to a great one is simple--he just has to die. Worked wonderfully for JFK. Maybe there's something there for Bush? |

10 Jun 04 - 12:43 PM (#1204427) Subject: RE: BS: The Secret of Greatness From: Rapparee Reagan gets a state funeral 'cause he was President, not because he was some terrific sort of President. Contrary to some reports, he did not plan the funeral: a) he had Alzheimers and couldn't, but mostly, b) these things are done by a strict protocol. The amount of misinformation coming out, though, is a tribute to his presidency. For instance, I always thought that the caissons were used to haul ammunition for cannons, not to haul the cannons themselves (although the cannons could be hooked to the caisson). 11 Jun 04 - 09:39 AM (#1205098) Subject: RE: BS: The Secret of Greatness From: GUEST,Larry K And everyone knows that it is a right wing conspiracy that Reagan died in an election year. He could have died in any other year but no...it had to be in an election year. My guess is that George Bush had him killed to booster his polls. Maybe one of you out there can find evidence of this. PS: Will Bush tell us to "win one for the Gipper" at convention? |

11 Jun 04 - 04:44 PM (#1205378) Subject: RE: BS: The Secret of Greatness From: Amos LarryK, you're sounding a little paranoid there. Understandable, considering the mental machinations you have to put up with from your appointed resident. But we're not really out to getcha, man. Just getting the truth on the table is hard enough without trying to bump off affable old gaffers like Ronnie Reagan. DougR, I guess we're just cynical about different things. You were cynical about Iraq harboring WMD; I was cynical about Bush breathing. Chacun a son mauvais gout. A |
