16 Jun 04 - 07:41 AM (#1208430) Subject: Liverpool Shanty Festival From: GUEST,Chris The Liverpool Shanty Festival commences Thursday 17th June with "Across the Western Ocean", a concert at Southport Arts Centre, Friday's concert is "Songs from the Seven Seas" at Pacific Road Arts Centre, Birkenhead Saturday's Radio Merseyside Concert is at the Neptune Theatre, Liverpool. Baltic Fleet: Friday Evening. "Outward Bound". Hughie Jones hosts an informal evening with friends meeting, performers dropping in and good, real ales. (The landlord says we don't have to "jump ship" until 1:00am)! Saturday Lunchtime : 11:30am – 1:30pm. "Lunchtime at the Baltic Fleet". with Taffy Thomas, G & T, Four 'n' Aft and Bonnie Milner. Saturday Evening: "The Festival Folk Club" with various performers. Saturday & Sunday From some of the world's best maritime singers/groups we will hear Shanties and Sea Songs around the Albert Dock, Anchor Courtyard, on the Ships, the Pier Head and Woodside Ferry Terminal.
