Yes, he's a really good guy but has to be as his wife is a real sweetie and she wouldn't put up with anything less....and we wouldn't let him! He sings really well too and has some good songs which are worth singing in the USA as well as in the UK.

Have a good time in USA and don't forget the something for my Christmas tree!!

Cllr is alive and well in New York... and looking for Chanty singing... Dempsy's may not be it. China town at some time tonight, so anyone with info about singing sessions in New York tonight? IF not, we may have to settle for a tour of South Street, China town then Dempsy's (4th street and 2nd ave...) So lets get on the ball folks...
Had a great wee walk around the lower east side last night, great fellow, thanks for loaning him the New York - all his friends in England...
Cheers

Kitty - what IS the P word???

And Breezy - I can pronounce it (nearly married a Welshman who taught me a few things....) I think it's Welsh for 'hairball' which actually suits Mike (AKA Cllr) down to the ground!

Michael's coming home!
(to be sung to the tune of the English football song!)

Much jubilation in Ampthill, especially in my house, 'cos in 24 hours he will be in England again!

Mike, if you get to read this before you set off I'm going to try to escape from the office at 2pm to be home for 2.30!

Thanks to everyone for looking after him so well. I'm really looking forward to hearing all about his adventures when I see him TOMORROW!! Hurrah :-)

Just read your question. Seems like you are flying the day I am headed to the Peking ... sounds like you had a great time. Did my 4th of Juy in small town America ( Bloomsburg, PA). Now it's big city time, and if I'm lucky, chantey time.< Have a safe flight .... may have to visit Ampthil to revist the rugby club and an ignominous match played 2 years ago.

Cheers,

Brian

While you were away, you missed Michael Howard's Desert Discs (he sounds much better since he stopped being Home Secretary, as he admitted on the programme). But you'll be home in time to hear the repeat on Friday morning!

Happy landings

Mike is right about the politics here... the US is so far to the right today, it would be hard to say wether he would be a liberal democrate, or to the left of that!!! But, have to say, Mike is a free thinker by US political standards, and as such, would be concidered progressive, as most US voters think along rather narrow lines... one reason I am embarking on a journey which I hope will end with me in Canada...
Cheers, and thanks for lending us Mike,
Larry
