BS: Joy's Grandmother's story

Just managed to get the story of my Grandmother online. She was a sort of folk character in her way so here she is for anyone who's interested. Takes a while to download because so many great old photos came my way. Joy

I've only scanned the story so far, but I will bookmark it for fuller enjoyment later.

But this just caught my eye In middle age she ran away from her home and family . . .

Just a confirmation that you're never too old to have a happy childhood!

Way to go for self-reinvention!

Yes Madam Adair was a master of self-reinvention. She even took a new name. Heaven only knows, if that's where she's gone, what she's up to now. Joy

Joy, I, too, have only scanned, but it looks WONDERFUL!! I look forward to reading it in depth. I like the way you have it laid out, too. I am still working on my dad's oral history book and you've given me a couple of ideas as to placement of photos, etc. Thanks!

And, thanks for sharing with us!!

Thanks kat, It took a lot of trial and error and a lot of cursing. The easy part - writing the story was the fun bit. I used Microsoft Publisher, reluctantly because Lotus wanted more money out of me than I could afford. I find Lotus much more user-friendly. I know there are other programs but I caved in.
Good luck with your dad's story. I'll look forward to seeing it. Joy

Hi Joy,
Eureka. It worked for the first time I went on line with an excellent Linux OS called Fedora. It has any number of choices, from approx. 0.5 gig to more than 6 gig.
Cheers
