Brink a hat, though, because it will probably be 112 degrees in the shade. It just seems to me that those of you who profess to be neo-libs should want to preserve the only radio network touting your POV and be willing to do something to raise money to keep it on the air. If there were more of you, of course, it could be supported by advertising like all of the other right wing broadcasters are. :>) DougR |

Casual Observer's MO is to pop in here with unverified reports from right-wing punditry websites and try to pass them off as fact. It's boring, but at least he has a hobby... |

24 Feb 07 - 06:17 PM (#1978395) Subject: RE: BS: Air America in Financial Trouble From: pdq "Air America's move to Canada>: It's been over a week now since Air America Radio announced the shocking news that their entire operation - including hosts and support staff - was moving to Canada to restart business "up north" in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. They will sell the remaining time that they purchased on stations in the U.S., and use that revenue to purchase time on cheaper stations in Canada. "Plus/touts, with/avec, the exchange rate/la rate d'echanger, we will save money/nous allons sauver l'argent", AAR CEO Danny Goldberg said. But, what's behind the move? According to Goldberg, him and all of the hosts renouncing their American citizenships was one of the harder decisions they've made, but they realize the payoff could be better than if they'd stayed in the U.S. Firstly, they realized that their brand of liberalism stands a better chance of being heard and fully appreciated in a more civilized country like Canada. Secondly, Al Franken realized that his becoming a Senator from Minnesota was nothing more than a sad joke, and he's now set his sights on becoming a Senator ("or whatever they have up here") from one of the Maritime Provinces ("the sunny one"...>" |

Heh! Ain't it the truth. We already have the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), Canada's national government-funded radio show...and it is so vastly superior to American radio that there it's like another world. Think "no commercials"! None whatsoever. We also have a multitude of privately owned radio stations which you can listen to...and there you can get your daily deluge of obnoxious advertising, inane jingles, and top 40 recycled hits in whatever musical style you choose. That's what I call democracy. A wide choice of alternatives to listen to, to suit all tastes. |
