Patapan, formerly Nordbadische Gaukler-Gang. An excellent troop I had the pleasure to play and drink with some years ago.
Available also for marriage ceremonies, dinners in medieval style, renaissance fairs, and such.

Are you looking for songs or for singers? There are several CDs available with traditional songs which folk groups recorded in the seventies, and there are several bands who play and sing mediaeval-style music. I'm not sure you'd class either group of performers as 'traditional', though. To be honest, I can't think of any traditional singers in Germany in the sense that Bob Copper, for instance, was a traditional singer. But the songs are there.

The tune Elvis used for 'Wooden Heart' is a traditional german tune which I learned at school in the late '40s, early'50s.

Try Old Songs New Songs, or go straight to the list of countries on their website and select BRD-.... Bierfiedler, Folklaender, Grenzgaenger, Hein & Oss Kroeher, Leipziger Folk Session Band, Liederjan, Lilienthal, Lorbass, Moin, Schmelztiegel, Hannes Wader, Zupfgeigenhansel are among those who have recorded traditional material, in their early releases at any rate. Later on most of them have included self-penned material as well, and some, like Helmut Debus, Duo Sonnenschirm, Floh de Cologne, Stephan Krawczyk, Gerhard Schoene did nothing else from the start and are no worse for it. Good hunting!
