But Alberta teenagers can. Moore and his distributors lost their appeal yesterday to lower the R rating in the U.S. for Fahrenheit 9/11, his scathing assault on President Bush's actions before and after the Sept. 11 attacks. But the documentary, which opens in North American theatres on Friday, received a 14A rating in this province from the Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta film review boards. The 14A rating here prohibits only those 13 and younger from seeing Fahrenheit 9/11 without an adult, while the R rating in the U.S. prohibits those 17 and younger from seeing the movie without an adult." |

"Teenagers should be able to see this film and see it on their own," said Moore. "Older teenagers are being sent to Iraq, some never to return. To say that teenagers shouldn't see this movie means that the truth should be kept from them. I encourage all teenagers to come see my movie, by any means necessary. If you need me to sneak you in, let me know." |
